She will also manage various internal units and provide high-level direction for bank-wide operational functions.

“We are excited to have someone of Brenda’s abilities step into the COO role,” said Meyerhoeffer. “She has a long history with First Federal and a lot of expertise that will translate well to this new role. I am confident she will be able to come right in and help the Bank thrive now and well into the future.”

“I am honored to accept an expanded role with the Bank, a role brimming with fresh challenges and opportunities,” shared Hughes. “My longstanding tenure has equipped me with valuable insights into our organization’s principles and operations, which I eagerly bring to this new position. I am committed to upholding our bank’s legacy of excellence while embracing innovation and adaptability in an ever-evolving financial landscape.”

Hughes enters the COO role with well over three decades of banking experience as she began her financial career in 1987 at the former Twin Falls Bank & Trust. She later joined West One Bank, now US Bank, in Twin Falls, starting her extensive background in the mortgage space. Hughes has and continues to be involved in numerous professional organizations and industry groups including the American Bankers Association (ABA). She has appeared before the United States Congress on several occasions, representing the banking industry on a number of critical topics.

“With gratitude for the trust placed in me, I look forward to contributing to the solid foundation First Federal has built and continuing to serve our communities with unwavering support,” added Hughes.
